Ethnic Minorities Sewing Enterprise (EMSE)

The Cavell Street projects comprise of the Ethnic Minorities Sewing Enterprise (EMSE) and the Women’s Sewing Project (WSP), both are gender specific projects which are accommodated on separate floors of the same building.

EMSE is a busy, well attended project that offers training in all aspects of clothing manufacture. Due to the demands of one of their regular clients their work tends to be merchandise for the upper end of the clothing and home furnishings market, therefore the standard and quality of work is very high. The men are also offered additional training in English as a second language (ESOL), I.T and Welfare Advice.
